Just a quick one here, imagine reading a very long profile and sending a message because after reading the profile you concluded that you match the requirements completely but all thats left is to see if there is any physical attraction. I am confident about how i look but realistic also and i am aware i am just an average looking guy so if i message you, dont take it the wrong way but its because i believe i am in your "league" and yes that doesnt mean you will think the same thing and thats fine believe me i understand but i guess we will never know because you deleted my message without reading it or my profile then proceeded to complain there arent any friendly, genuine guys on this site lol again thats fair enough.

My problem is that if your profile is any longer than mine then i personally dont believe you have the right to delete my message without reading it haha, i just read an entire book on your profile so the least you can do is read the message i wrote to you and spoilers its 2 paragraphs at the most.

This post isnt actually directed at anyone and is just a story, in reality i didnt even finish reading the profile i just scrolled down like 8 times to reach the bottom just so i could see how ridiculously too long it was and i didnt message or get ignored by anyone....today atleast haha just fyi i know how cliquey it gets on these forums from experience but i thought it would be worth a laugh for you to read this and see who agrees so dont take it too seriously.

Sometimes one can read useful information in a long profile. I prefer longer profiles to short naff ones. At least they’ve put the effort in.

I get told ‘wow just read your huge novel of a profile’

Okay, but I timed myself reading it slowly out loud and it took just under a minute and a half. C is awful with reading and it took him the same amount of time.

I receive a message, I check out the profile before I even read it.

The sender wouldn't know whether I'd looked or not, as I'm in ninja mode.

If I don't like what I see on the profile, for any dozen of reasons I'll delete the message unread

Maybe I do like the profile, so yes, now I'll read the message, but something I'm it's contents, for any of a dozen reasons, puts me off.

I'll mark it unread, I'll delete it

How do you know which is which?

There's one guy on here who's profile makes me smile every time I read it. Absolutely nothing on it that you'd usually see. And in his case his profile is not long enough as it's a pleasure to read and even laugh at.

However to come back to the Ops post, the profile can be several paragraphs or a few lines. If what is written in your message or you have no attraction to that person, it's on you, not them to decide if it's worth reading a profile or not.

Sometimes I wonder whether the long profile is worth it, very very few ever read it, but if you want it there then that's your business and if someone else doesn't like it, move on and find someone with a short one. When push comes to shove, for me anyway, I can always tell when someones read my profile properly and it makes a big difference whether II bother answering or not

Exactly my point, thank you for understanding you were the target audience for my joke. The other snowflakes who didnt see the joke and have decided to harrass and insult me over it dont seem to realise that if the joke doesnt apply or appeal to them that they could just carry in with their lives and not embarrass themselves as "adults".

I'm an interesting chap who loves reading articulate informative, well crafted profiles of our fine lady folk

However in my quest for that elusive magic I have seen some exceptionally long profiles , longer than any crafted by our most eloquent fab forum ladies I'm saying war and peace style novels , 20 30 40 pages long

What length profile would you give up on , for me any length so long as its captivating

I'd suggest statistically the longer a profile the less captivating or seductive it becomes , with the exceptions being profile gold often hosted by very interesting vivacious humourous and intelligent people x

I dont believe i weote the OP with you in mind so why would i need to know why you think a long profile is necessary and bare in mind i dont mean long i literally mean like ridiculously long profile.

I can read the final harry potter book in a day and a half, im not exaggerating ive done it before so reading isnt a problem for me so if i think something is too long beleive me it really is long.

I am just replying to people pal, its good manners after all not to ignore people and its not my fault if people who insult me get offended by my response, mayne dont start insulting me over a joke and i wouldnt have to reply at all. Rest assured my friend, I/we feel your pain, let's look at it from another angle. I sincerely hope you people get the help you need and work through your problems so that one day not far from now when you see a joke you dont understand or dont find funny that youre able to keep scrolling down and get on with your lifes.

Clearly my joke made alot of people angry and those people who felt attacked by my joke (maybe because they do the same kind of behaviour maybe just general over sensitivity) i just want to say to you that in the future when you insult someone, dont be suprised if they insult you back especially if youre not prepared to be insulted at all and even more so if your insults barely even made sense and constantly contradicted yourself and things id written at the bottom of my OP specifically the part about not taking it seriously and that i was joking.

I appreciate everyone who decided to tell me who i am, what kind of man i am and what i am all about, honestly if it wasnt for you random strangers telling me about me then how would i have known, i thought j was joking but apparently i wasnt, who knew? Oh right..people who have never met me.

My profile is long, but necessary because of all the idiots on here, and it can be a good way of filtering out the people who aren't right for you. That said there will be plenty of people who message without reading it.

Nobody is owed a reply to an unsolicitated message. Most of the people who message me I'm not physically attracted to. I'm sure I'm much uglier than even I think, and I know I'm not attractive, but i'm not going to want more than chat with someone I'm not attracted to.

I simply cannot physically type " thanks but no thanks " to everyone I am not interested in as I would never have time to get chatting properly to the few I like. I know I'll get abuse from some for deleting if it's a nice message so I actually don't check my inbox that much.

I think if someone read a profile and their message proves that, it's pretty crap to ignore them. Especially if it's ridiculously long.

More than a few paragraphs and they should at least give a shag to the poor sods reading it.
