I just bought a spray bottle for using when I'm ironing. It has a tag on it that says "spray and go". Why? Why isn't it "spray and get something wet" or even "spray and stick around for a while to see what happens"?

I was reminded on a thread a few days ago about old adverts for a shampoo called "Wash and Go". Why not "Wash and stay in the shower for the rest of your life because I'm sure you haven't got anything better to do"?

Surely everybody is going to "go" at some point after they have done something, so isn't it completely redundant? Would a toilet be called "Go and go"?

Does branding and and marketing baffle others as much as it baffles me? I watch adverts and scratch my head in utter confusion. Are there any brands or adverts that confuse you or you just take the piss out of?

If anybody cares I'll tell something I know about Barry Scott from the Cillit Bang adverts.

I know somebody who used to work in advertising. She was on the set the day they filmed one of these adverts and they film all the different Barry Scotts from across Europe on the same day on the same set so there is uniformity across Europe (and it's cheaper). They each do their bit in their respective language, run past on some kind of conveyor belt...

...and they all SHOUT. They are told to.

My friend was one of the people who cleaned the microwave for the before and after shots. Guess what they used to clean the microwave...

I'm always a bit when I see a sign that says

'eyebrows threaded while you wait' as if there's an option to drop them off and come back later.

I also wonder why so many farmers tell me to pick my own sweetcorn, surely they want me to pick theirs.

My favourite though was 'pick your own manure'
