There seem to be so many ads lately that feature people sitting on the loo. Why? Just why?

You spend a lot of time on the loo so I suppose in the case of an hotel they want to show it's a lovely place.

Yeah the advert was for hotel rooms but showed a couple in their own bathroom. The woman is dreaming of romance while her husband is taking a dump right next to her and telling her they're out of loo roll.

Ahh, in that case they're obviously showing the juxtaposition of luxury and humdrum.

Have I led a sheltered life, is it common practice to sit on the loo while your partners in the bath?

No that isn’t common

However it is common to sit on his knee while he’s on the loo....

Right?

That's my thinking but I'd only allow a wee in absolute emergencies.

I think I've seen that one. Didn't notice what they were advertising.

The loo roll ads where they describe how clean their arsehole is are .... interesting.

That sounds like my old married life. Ha. Or vice versa. There was no point even closing a door.

I'm thinking of installing one of those medieval style ones that drop it from height around the back of the house. I can imagine they were well aired and will save on water. But I just think my neighbours won't appreciate my hairy cheeks poking out from above..

I'm happy to have company while I shower or bathe but I'd rather they were going to the loo . One of the first things we did when we moved here was put in a second bathroom. I guess I like my privacy

They often had several seats so it became a communal activity, it's nothing new I guess

If only I had a second bathroom when I was living with them. I would too.
