Are they the single guy equivalent in the fab lady world.

There are countless threads and posts about curvy bbw ladies praising their virtues... often these posts include jibes or put downs like 'stick insects,' curves are fabulous straight lines are boring.. etc.

why do you think the jibes (from all genders, I might add )are posted ?

Because people have their own opinions, we all find different things attractive and lots of people like to insult other, others just talk bollocks and enjoying winding others up.

I really don't know why people put other people down because of their body shape...I cringe when I see someone calling a slim woman a stick insect or not a real woman!!...,it must be really hurtful...x

I just like, or not, the individual as opposed to a shape or size! Though have no worries with a person's personal preferences as I'm happy in my life!

Boils my piss when people do that!

There's no need to insult one person room compliment another.

I love all kinds of women, slim ladies included!

We all like different things and it's a real shame we can't celebrate all body types without shaming others!

I love being curvy but nothing turns me off more than praising my body in a way that puts others down.

Because some people are insecure and rude

I'm not sure why.. maybe its different reasons that ladies guys or couples say those things..

I do see things by guys aimed at other guys (not body shape, more behaviours).. trying to make themselves seem different better than others of the same gender.

There’s enough beautiful bodies of all shapes and sizes for everyone to find somebody to perv over on here , no need to put anyone down!

I'd give anything to be a slimmer woman . I think it's sad people use hurtful phrases without thought because they assume slimmer women are confident enough to not be hurt by it .

Body shaming is just one form of shaming that happens on this site.

Keyboard warriors and jealous people are everywhere

And at the risk of backlash, some people will say anything because they think it will increase their chances of meeting

Agree with you.

And no one should ever be body shamed.

Feeling comfortable in one's own skin is a most attractive quality. Stuff what anyone else thinks/says

I agree. I think some men say things against slim women because they have no chance with them. And they think the larger women will be desperate and therefore swoon and fall for their white knighting.

I think so too. And I've found that when a slim woman is happy in her body and wants to have a little boast about it, it is seen as a bad thing and like they are showing off, but with curvier women boasting it's like "you go girl!"

All bodies are beautiful

Everyone should lift each other up. Thankfully we all love different things.

I either think someone's fit or I don't. And that's not due to body type/size. For instance Tess Munster is insanely gorgeous and so is Ruby Rose. Both polar opposites and both make me weak at the knees

Its over compensation, people see curvy/bbw what ever label you want to use as a group of people who get bullied and shamed because of their body type, they make these comments to gain favor or just to make people feel better, not thinking that a slim women might have confidence issues with their own bodies....

And of course some people just like to insult others

It's still body shaming...because they all called me fat at school.

Fat is hurtful, obese is better, skinny rake is harmless.

This is all wrong, just ask any anorexic/bulimic.

Apart from in the forums (where it is most of the time) I've never experienced a problem or any discrimination for erring to the slim/fit. It's only here that being a stick insect or a skinny minny or not being a "real" woman is pointed out and used as a put down.

When you have a daughter with an eating disorder and the pain that causes them and those around them then these terms go past humour and name calling

I like to think that people see through the transparent attempt to ingratiate themselves with one group in order to getting laid with another.
