Is there such a thing?

A REAL balanced, readable paper that doesn't take sides. . . Does one exist in the UK?

Yeah, it's called toilet paper. Read that for unbiased words.

I remember reading an article once (in a newspaper ironically) that said the news, in whatever format, is only what someone else deems important for you to know ... so there will always be bias

The daily fail is hardly unbiased

Bias is inevitable in any form of communication. There are only degrees of it.

I'm not on about the fail. I'm on about actual toilet paper. Cushelle, Andrex, anything with writing on it

Probably best to read a few to get a randomised view from all perspectives.

Nope. The news doesn't fall from the sky and into the page.

It's always filtered through someone else's agenda.

Any time any one tells you anything, there will be filtering, language choice, etc. Deliberate or not, that will reflect bias.

Sadly no. I gave up on newspapers years ago. I try not to limit myself to one news outlet to try and balance out what I hear.

"Sadly no. I gave up on newspapers years ago. I try not to limit myself to one news outlet to try and balance out what I hear."

Where did this obsession with media outlets being ‘unbiased’ come from? Especially when everyone seems to want an unbiased source that aligns with their own bias.

Read widely; ask questions; make your own mind up.

The problem with creating an unbiased paper is that the individual would have to shift through all the dirt, lies and controversies, filter it all out, and still make a good enough headline for people to want to buy it and read it.

"

And in sifting and deciding... create bias.
