This maybe the wrong site to ask however here goes.

I made a beef and vegetable pie a couple of weeks ago, added the pasty lid and then froze it, I've never frozen them before. Now I want to eat it do I have to defrost, common sense says yes but obviously you can cook some pies from frozen.

Advice welcome

I've never had a problem doing either. Just increase the cooking time If you're going from frozen. Make sure the filling is piping hot and cooked thoroughly.

Cook from frozen, on a lower heat and for longer to make sure its cooked through.

Enjoy!

Thanks for replies although not sure on the temp now, I generally cook most things on around 180 so will go with that. Possible issue with burning the puff pastry before pie is hot

So long as it's hot all the way through from frozen should be fine

Like Minnie said, just lower the heat a touch and cook for longer than you would from chilled
