So you're in the supermarket, you pick something up but further on round, you see something better or decide you don't fancy it.

Do you :

1. take it out of your trolley, look round and dump it on the nearest shelf ?, OR

2. take it back to where you found it and put it in its rightful place ?

Dump it. At least I am honest.

But make sure if it is cold that it's dumped on a cold shelf.

If from fridge or freezer then put back in the nearest fridge/freezer anything else will dump on the nearest shelve.

Only cause I'm such a lazy cow who hates shopping at the best of times

Depends on how many aisles away I am to whether I put in back in it's rightful place.

And how busy it is

Either or hand it over at the till and tell them of a change of heart or having found better on offer. There's always someone to return it.

Carry on to the checkout and leave it with them, making it clear to them if its chilled or frozen so it can be returned promptly rather than perish.

As someone who used to work in a supermarket, I'd take the item back to wherever it was displayed out of professional courtesy, even if I was in the line at checkout

We're not into leaving chilled stuff laying around. We'd go and put it back, or at least leave it in the area where it should be. It annoys me to see people leave meat cartons among the biscuits!

And I know I'd leave clothes and shoes presentable rather than thrown around all over the floor like dusters and tat.

It's my retail OCD

in the night garden

I can literally throw any item from any part of the supermarket back onto it's correct shelf.

I know this because no one has mentioned me missing when I have done it so far.
