Security searches

It’s been the Coombe weekender festival this weekend in Coventry. I’ve heard many tales about the security searches from people who went. From what I’ve heard, they have been searching women’s bras, feeling inside the top of the cups and also under the wires at the front. Some women have also said they were told to jiggle them too as they have big boobs. Apparently, anyone refusing to comply and subject themselves to this was refused admission.

I personally would not feel comfortable with this and would not attend any festival or other event where I knew this would happen. In my opinion, even though security is paramount, it’s taking things too far.

What are your thoughts on having to undergo this type of security search when attending a music festival?

Brighton - even Hove!

It sounds invasive - if some crazy wanted to smuggle something in, they would and probably not in a bra. Are they searching men’s genitalia too?

If it is true , that's going too far , guess there after drugs or knifes , but I doubt it's true more than likely one person has been turned away by security and she has made up a story on Facebook that's gets liked and soon it becomes gospel . The local news would of reported on it and there's nothing on the cov telegraph web site

That doesn't sound too shit hot. I can understand them wanting to keep safe etc, though I wouldn't have thought this was entirely legal.

And let's be honest, a huge amount would be wearing padded bras anyway so if they wanted to smuggle it in in their bra they'd whack it in the padding.

I would have thought that kind of search would need to be done by someone with a license to do so if such a thing exists. I'd also want to be warned of such a search before I went.

Nothing on Cov telegraph but several women all saying the same thing makes me believe there’s something to it.

But I cannot see it being true the security would be a professional company and you cannot do this , even airports don't go that far , it would be very bad news for the security company who would lose there licence

Coventry

I think it's best to stick to nude events, clearly far safer from a security point of view.

As a football stadium steward,,, I, Bubbles,, was never allowed to pad down, or search ladies entering the ground.

I had power to check handbags, and the like, that’s all. We had female stewards to check the female spectators.

Sounds like a few guys got a naughty idea, and preyed on those who would not want to risk a waste of their money....or, more likely, as mentioned earlier, a rumour, made ‘real’ by social media. Great example of ‘fake news’.

Incidentally, if this was ever said to you, ask to speak to the section supervisor, or, even the event manager. This usually stops any silly stuff.
