as most men probably do when you read a user update like I've just seen on a women's profile: "Fit women only no butters"

Manchester (she/her)

I used to. In my first six months or so I saw a lot of things like "size 12 and under only, no fatties". I blocked them and got on happily with my life.

They're allowed to like what they like, and they're allowed to be obnoxious about it. And we're allowed to think them obnoxious and not worth meeting.

(I've had fat shamers try to return to me as my physique has changed. They're given a fairly rude shock when I turn them down)

You would be correct, too.

According to urban Dictionary...

butters

This means 'ugly' when used to describe a person. I think it comes from 'butterface', as in 'nice body, but her face...'

"She is well butters"

Everyone has their preference, the key is to move on past and not let it get to you. There are plenty more people on here

.

No, not really. Their choice isn't it? My face is cute so I don't think it comes under the butters category. I guess when they message me, I do point out I'm not the size 12 and under they want but apparently they'll make an exception for me? I take that as the massive compliment it's clearly meant as.

No - I would only want to meet people I found attractive, too. Fair enough, I wouldn’t phrase it that way, but getting upset that other people only want to meet those that they are attracted to would make me a hypocrite.

I'm not offended by people's preferences. I'm offended that they choose to be obnoxious in expressing them. (or at least choose not to meet because of it)

No it doesn't bother me everyone is allowed their preferences.Ye there is no need to be so blunt about it tho but that's how some people are. I just ignore them and won't engage in a chat with someone even if I fit their criteria if they are body shaming others in a rude way mainly because they are more likely to turn abusive . Stating your preferences is different if done in a non slagging off way.

Nope. We're all entitled to our preferences, there's someone for everyone in here. If you don't like what you read, move on and find something that does delight your eyes and tickles your fancy.
