How open are you with people?

Do you find it easy to express yourself and your emotions or are you guarded and reserved?

Does the anonymity of online interactions make it easier or harder to be open and does the fact you want to meet someone make you more or less open about yourself and your vulnerabilities?

I'm not open, very closed. But I had to share an horrific scenario with my manager today.. mostly so she knew why I was stressed to heck.... its not made it better... but its eased it somewhat

I don’t really know actually.

However, I do find others (I think) being quite open with me. And then, that’s how our friendship kind of grows.

Bizarre.

my own little sanctuary

I’m very decisive in how much or how little I allow people to know. I can be very open but I am selective so I’d say guarded for the most part.

I find it easy to express my feelings and emotions, however I’m pretty sure that it isn’t a good thing a lot of the time. I’m learning to be more reserved.

I think we are more open in an online setting, but I still have anxiety that someone will think I'm weird for being in the lifestyle, so I'm definitely guarded if that makes sense!!

I think I'm fairly open and certainly upfront with people. However I keep my circle closely guarded with a great big wall

On a mooch

It really all depends on the person I’m talking to and if it’s appropriate to the discussion at the time, plus if I feel comfortable with them.

I find it easier to talk about them or general topics rather than myself. This is the same in my life outside of here too, so not just a fab thing

Depends on who I am with. I am a bit closed at first with new people but open up after getting to know them

This is me, except I fail at being more reserved. I just share and overshare - Mrs

Mr is very reserved

This for me too. Takes an awful lot for me to let someone in, an awful lot! I’m quite a good judge of character and only regretted it once. On here I prefer to keep my personal life totally private apart from a couple of people who have actually become part of real life.

Yep I tended to over share but I’m finding the adjustment ok

Between Scylla and Charybdis

I think the anonymity of online communication allows some people to reveal more of themselves than they otherwise would, good and bad. As Wilde said - Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.

This is the same for me. I can ask questions and listen to another person talk comfortably for ages with no qualms - I enjoy hearing people and their stories and their thoughts. People are fascinating.

When it comes to myself, I find it makes me feel a bit awkward sometimes. I'm quite guarded and it takes me a fair amount for me to feel comfortable opening up to someone. Sometimes I do open up and then I worry about how it is received and regret doing so. With you OP, it's quite easy to do so. Not telling you any secret kinks/desires though ever again.

I used to be very open until it kept biting me on the arse. Now I am really cautious about what I share and who I share with. I'm aware it makes me come across not how I'd like to, but for self protection, it's sadly kinda necessary.

Why thank you for asking Meli.

I'm OK at sharing the day to day aspects of myself but I'm quite guarded with my feelings and letting people in.

Outwardly I'm quite bubbly and people make a lot of assumptions about who I am or how I think. There's not many I let see my vulnerable insecure side.

I think there's probably only one person in my life I feel completely open with and it's been liberating. They get the good and the bad and I feel completely content in sharing with them the crazy thoughts that go through my mind. Mostly because they do it back.

I think it depends on my mood and who with, I'll be open about things to a point but if I feel that the other person is being dismissive or doesn't really care I'll shut up shop.

Anxiety can be a bitch to deal with and being 'out there' when the other person doesn't reciprocate isnt something I deal with well.

I'm pretty open to be fair on here. No bullshit really. What you see is what you get. Personal things I'm not overly open about but recently I have with someone on here who I fully trust. Sometimes it's just nice to talk openly like that when you dont have many people around you who will listen
