Do you also do yoga?.

I do and the key to a long life is a healthy spine. I do ashtanga yoga and I listen to gayatri mantras whilst I do it, to come into that spiritual zone. I switch from the normal to the standing sequence, depending how I feel on that day

Isn’t that like excercise or something. Hell no id rather run a marathon then get into all sorts of funny positions with my legs all over the place bent over and gasping for air.

It’s very good for keeping your muscles supple, as well as keeping your pelvic floor nice and tight.... Can greatly benefit your sex life! x

Yes I do, vinyasa and hatha. It helps keep me surprisingly supple for my size and my constant chaotic mind a chance to switch off.

I've never tried yoga. Being a bit of a cardio freak it's taken me awhile to get my head around pilates which I started about 3 mths ago. Doing about 4 a week now and it's my new found passion. Loving the results for mind and body.

Sometimes U.K

Most days I practice at home, try to go to Iyengar and aerial yoga classes couple of times a week.

Once you get into the ‘zone’ the feeling really is indescribable

Iv been practicing yoga daily for over 25 years

I dont really like breaking it down into the vast array of sub categories

Controlled movement, controlled thoughts controlled breath , all practiced and never treated competitively

Yes

The main concept is to slowly control your body in a comfortable progressive manner, never avoiding movement because of ambition to achieve a deep position

Just lifting your arms above your head , only thinking of that action and slow your breathing

Daily !

Any movement in that style will be beneficial over time

Yes, there are different kinds of yogas out there. I would suggest ashtanga yoga for beginners as you do it nice and slowly, have you ever done it before?

Yes you could and there are lots of videos that you can follow, here is one from david swenson, he is the main guy of yoga and he brought it to the western world, it is the first series, he explains it good https://youtu.be/on3GCxtEjyk let me know what you think of it and also check out his other videos too, he does some really impressive moves. I like the spinal twists and I can do the head stand, but with the support of the wall, where I touch it with my feet. I cant do it free stand yet, but soon

I wasn’t very bendy (still aren’t) but enjoy yoga and started doing Hatha yoga, which I think is quite gentle but there’s also a style called Yin yoga which can also be seen as being gentle. Follow a couple of things on YouTube and it needn’t be an hour or anything like that either. Use props though, belts, cushions, books anything that works

Glad you’re a fan ST.

Went to a class last week for the first time in ages and it was sunny, on a rooftop, overlooking forestry (ok the common!). Was more vinyasa than I’d normally do but it’s all good and I try to not make it about how stretchy I am/am not.

That is good you will do that and yes head stands are quite hard to do and it will take a long time to be able to do them, but it is fun

Adapted for myself years ago as ex wouldn't let me out to go classes, couldn't afford classes, can't do with instructor's version of music, nor breathing exercises. I do more of stretches incorporating yoga poses. Enjoy vinyasa style. Claire Missingham is my idol!!
