I admit it. Guilty as charged

Maybe fellow forumites would share situations this has happened to them.

When your adamant something is the way it is when really it's not or vice versa ...

Just make me feel I am not the only one pleaseee

True. Rather be like that to be honest. It’s not done me any harm being so wary and having a bullshit radar as high as a kite!

One example....

See someone I'm interested in on here

Read the profile a few times

Start to write a message out

Delete the message

Go back to have another read of their profile

Write another message out

Delete message again.....

Usually you are right though when you overthink, it's coz you notice things and then work out many scenarios in your head.

The right place

I like thinking about things. But if it starts to lead to feelings of insecurity or inadequacy then I’m pretty good at nipping those thoughts in the bud and moving on. Those type of thoughts are corrosive and don’t do any good whatsoever.

I am the other way these days. I used to make myself seriously ill with overthinking until one day and i dont know what happened but i decided to work on it and now ive gone the opposite way in fact i try and do as little deep thinking as possible. It has also made me far more laid back

I struggle to trust anything anyone says..I'm always looking for the ulterior motive, the hidden lie, the agenda..lost a few friendships accusing them of something I'm convinced is true..such as cheating, lying, using me..its all in my head.

Overthinking for me has a cross over with anxiety. Its exhausting

It happens in certain situations especially when I have been letdown or a plan doesn't work out as it should have ... When I was younger it was with school exams..

Yep, more I read things into something someone has said..wishful thinking crossed with over thinking..a bad combination at times!

Ahhh ... Wishful thinking that's another thought.

That would be one the thought processes that keeps single guys on the site or we would have left a long time ago haha

(In my case I have left twice before)

After seeing a few threads this morning it seems many people on here do this and maybe it does get in the way of life at times or having a good time.

I have worked it out and I have one main reason for my overthinking which I would choose to share with someone I started a private chat with and not on a public forum.

I feel normal
