Football season starts again soon

west here ford shire

So footy season starts again, couple of thoughts here

I think the summer break isn’t long enough I would prefer if the season didn’t start until bank holiday weekend..

I am not looking forward to this season as my team (LFC) haven’t strengthened their side, there has been a lack of money spent on improving us..

Their should be a wage and transfer cap, the money average football players earn and what their transfer fees is obscene.

Some of the new rules will spoil the game

Thw amount of money the players get in no way affects the way O watch the sport, other than the obvious links to more football on TV, so if the money is in the industry then let them have it.

I think LFC will be alright actually maybe a slow start as Mane and Salah recover from the ACON.

The use of VAR in every single Premier league game will have a massive impact. Good or bad?

Bad

We'll have players makin tv shaped gestures angrily. Managers attempting to interfere when refs come to look. Ineptitude of officials will still arrive to the wrong decisions.

And so my life is stripped away for the winter. Having to attend weekly training and weekend games. All because my sons love it.

Silly game that I'm pretty good at, but have zero love for, unless it's the World Cup.

The recent women's tournament using var was largely good, apart from the long delays caused. The reviewed decisions were seen to be fair.

The more lengthy delays were caused by the refs themselves. Instead of instantly looking at the replays they seemed to have back and forth conversations with the upstairs officials.

Angrily remonstrating with with the officials would need to be met with instant cards.

I would suggest leaving out var for this coming season and the F A working hard with clubs/officials and technology to take away the delays.

I totally agree with you OP and Newcastle United will definitely struggle this year, no money to spend,no loyal ower or coach, and only a bunch of good players

Liverpool haven't really needed to strengthen but maybe a new no2 keeper would benefit. If allison gets injured you can't trust Mignolet.

From a personal point of view as an Orient fan I'm in two minds about this season. Delighted to be back in the football league but can't get that excited about it due to Justin Edinburgh's tragic passing. The first game this Saturday will be full of emotion.

I cant wait for my son to start training again and the matches to commence. I sort of miss getting so wet a few times a week and freezing my tits off in a weird way

I dont watch football on the box unless its the world cup and that never last very long.

I'm sure a lot of the other parents on the sidelines don't mind you getting wet either

Does seem to have been much of a break at all. I'm a season ticket holder at anfield, have been since 16 and tbh I'm falling out of love with footy. The money is obscene, the players crying premadonnas and the FA useless. Were cash cows nothing more
