been pretty lucky on hear ,yes there are timewasters etc serial chatters who wont meet ,but today twice we have been accused of being a guy pretending to be a couple ,now dont get me wrong this may have happened to them ,but why should we have to video chat to prove it ,hate doing it ,2nd guy only had to drive 10 mins to see us and find out we were a couple ,well after 25 years together i think we can class ourselves as a couple

Hmmmmmmmm.

Could be a number of things.

Profile name - masculine.

Profile pics - none of the male, none of the couple together, one solitary picture of the female.

Biog - could be interpreted as being written by a man

If it wasn't for your veris I'd be suspicious too.....

I can understand why they'd be cautious, but you shouldn't do anything you're not comfortable with either

You don't have to. If you don't want to go on cam or whatever don't. Just as the guy doesn't have to travel ten minutes if he doesn't want to.

Last week, three 'couples' contact to meet me, eventually they or he admits it's only the male half interested, although the profile shows only she is bi or bi curious

Hmm I can see where the others are coming from however just block and move on.

No need to prove anything to anyone.

Unless in direct violation of the fab rules and it can proven your profile is that of a single guy.

Other than that don’t worry about it.

O o O oo

I don't see the harm in proving we were a couple by cam , it saved anyone arranging a meet not knowing who was going to turn up

I dont see how or why they need to call you a single bloke, I thought people just quickly moved in these cases. It does seem unduly rude. You do have other pics and you do have the veris tho.

unless they just said they are worried about it, or have had it, which isnt an accusation as such but people do use that word I guess

Single women are often advised to verify the person/people they're meeting by cam I don't see why single men shouldn't do the same.

It may have only been 10 minutes to drive but he would also have to get himself prepared and would be psyched up for the meet. I can imagine he would be quite disappointed to turn up and find he'd been duped.

I think it's a matter of safety too, wanting to know exactly what you're going into.

I don't blame him but as others have said you set your own rules, if others don't want to play by them then they don't have to.

There and to the left a bit

Sadly OP there are far too many cases of people on here being duped by others posing as something they are not and it sounds like you've been asked this as a result of that.

Ultimately your profile and you should run it how you like but also need to be aware of why some are suspicious, particularly if this was a case of a very brief chat and then looking to meet so you'd not built up that trust and rapport over a period of time.

One other thing you could do would be to get Picture Verified by the site - it's not absolute proof, but is another thing you could point to if this arises again.

Stingly makes some very good points about why people might be suspicious based on your profile as it stands.

yeah, you really need to send in a couple pic holding your site name. It takes no for them to verify (or it didnt for me anyway) and it never gets seen by anyone on the site.

If yr on a computer its just above Block about 5 from bottom on your My Accounts page. Not sure about phone, but that took about 2 seconds to be chnged when i did it. Then just tell yr contacts you;ve done it. Or change it cleverly so theyll know anyway.

In truth, I don't think it will.

As I said, it still looks and reads like a single male profile to me.

Hopwfully any visitors will read your veris.

Maybe get a cam veri of the two of you together?

I don't understand why so many are dead against a quick video chat to show each other you exist.

You'll be meeting face to afterwards, it's the exacts same thing, just done over the Internet.

For the sake of a quick 'hi, this is us/me', a lot of bother could be solved.

I've lost count of the number of "couples" who have contacted me where she doesn't meet anymore. When I press the point it turns out she never met anyone, she has no idea she is on here and he's posing as a couple with a picture of his wife or even a picture stolen from elsewhere.

Of all the couples that have messaged me, I don't think one has been genuine.

--Me too, but it's because we're not conventional couples ourselves. Enough men here, no-doubt because they are struggling to get anything on their own, clearly try and get action by posing as a Couple (whether it's totally fake or they've at some point spilt up) - but of course they are destined to ultimately struggle in that capacity too - so they end up going with their 'bi-curious' or whatever side. I often say things like, but do you need to be a couple anymore? So many of them just won't change their profile though, becuase they think it gives them that calculated edge. It's deceit, simple as that.

Personally I don't trust them as committed bi's either - I'm always wary of desperate sex from that kind of avenue. In the end, unless they've got lucky maybe (and once will be it), they get nothing I reckon, and less than if they were honest.
