So how many of you on here completely speak your mind/have no filter/don't sugar coat shit.

I'm as blunt as they come and all the above applies. I've been called heartless and it's ended many conversations, but surely it's better to be truthful and speak your mind than sugar coating reality and just being nicey nicey.

Anyone else's mouth land them in trouble or is it just me

I'm a bit of both I think. If I feel someone needs to hear something and only the harsh truth will work then so be it. However if I feel someone will listen better if it's done with a sense of compassion/sensitivity then that's the approach I'll adopt.

Too often do I open my mouth and tell people what they need to know rather than what they want to hear!

I've always thought there was nothing wrong with "a spoonful of sugar" if you get my meaning

Depends really, I'm overly polite and sometimes get stuck being nicey nicey and have no idea how to extract myself.

With people I'm not just placating I tend to say it as it is. I get away with being a bit cheeky most of the time but if someone does something I don't like then I just tell them.

I never sugar coat anything for anyone... It tastes too good the sugar it'd be a shame to waste.

It depends on the situation, I'm not going to deliberately hurt someone's feelings because I feel the need to speak my mind. I don't need to say everything that pops into my head.

Exactly this. There's a distinct difference between "telling it like it is" and being a nasty little prick.

Ah my Twinnie haha.. I’d imagine the amount of block list I’m on speaks for itself, there should be a prize for that..

I agree with this and am generally the same. There is a time and place for both versions. It is the wonderful complexity of the human mind.

There is a difference between being blunt and just being a twat. Most people who think they are blunt are generally just being twats because they think it makes them something. Usually from their own embedded issues to begin with.

"Blunt" people tend to be quite unstable in themselves and will often be the first to take offense if somebody (unfamiliar) is the same way with them. Turning aggressive in some cases.

Oh yeah. You can be blunt without being an arse wipe for sure.

But I think you other above statements won't be true for all blunt people. Only a percentage.
