I usually have around 20-30 unread messages by Friday but that's because I don't really message during the week.

I think having more 50 at the time is useless

My filters are really tight and I still get hundreds. Mostly a load of crap though. I can tell by the first line whether it’s worth reading. 99% of the time it’s not!

Easy...

- out of age range delete

- skim of first line without opening could lead to delete

- deal with those with a specific forum thread

- respond to regular contacts

- the rest stay unread until I get a chance to read properly and respond, even if it’s a no

I always say to try once more when people do threads about women not answering. I miss so many from friends and forum people. These ones I always answer, but sometimes they just get lost. I delete and block if I’m not interested it’s just easier. A lot do so if they weren’t interested your message wouldn’t go through anyway.

I have filters on lots of filters but I still have 400 unread and as Nora said you can normally tell by the first line if it's worth reading.

I try to respond to forum folk then often dont read anything else. Which is not doing to find me someone local. I need to rethink

Haha. Me too. I need to be a bit more pro-active. I keep meaning to be . Bulk deleting every few days probably doesn’t help. I think I’m waiting for him to knock on my door and say it’s me I’m that elusive one that ticks everyone one of your ridiculous amount of boxes

from Home Counties to Middle Earth

I had over 200 messages between jumping in the shower at 8am this morning and 10am.

I read/respond to familiar faces and forumites, then try to work through the rest, deleting dick pics, one-liners and anyone impatient enough to assume I'm ignoring them for not replying within a few minutes. It is a bit overwhelming at times. I don't think guys necessarily appreciate the time involved -even if someone catches my eye, sometimes I literally do not have the capacity for more chat at that moment, so may not be able to respond for a few days, by which point, the mail is way down my box and somewhat lost in the swamp!

I start to lose interest because, but then I think that's why the recipient does not open the message for that exact effect.

Anything past 100 messages if you're a subscriber you can't see unless you delete them.

There needs to be inbox filters so you can view people on friends / hotlist messages out of the rest of them too. Without losing everyone's messages

And page scrolling through the messages 4o you can get to say page 8 of your 900 messages.

No one will ever get through them all just too time consuming

And a filter reset to start blank slate clear the winks and previous messages. Resetting the message blocks

I have my filters set pretty tight but mine goes like this :

Check for regulars and reply

Delete anyone asking for immediate meet.

Delete any too far away.

I tend to just go through and delete without reading, those out of my age range, too far away, no profile pic, dick pic... still have quite a backlog tho, sometimes I mark some as unread that I might go back and reply to at a later date but I usually forget and they drop off the end of my inbox

I have exactly 1007 right now, it's normal. I scan through them. Only 5% worth reading I filter them a bit I don't look if to young and the ones with photos usually get my attention however a majority of the time it's all a waste of time x

Sometimes a read a message and reply....Then go to my inbox and there another three waiting while I've read the first message....It gets ridiculous on here sometimes....I currently have 686 unread and I cleared them all this afternoon.
