I have a springer spaniel. 14 years old. 15 in may.

I worked her on shoots and retired her at the age of 12, bringing her into the house.

Since bringing her indoors, she has become a diva. It's getting worse! Is it me pandering to her, or should I allow her to by the Madonna of the household??

I'm sure she thinks that now she lives indoors she is a human and all prior training goes out of the dppr !

Mine's almost that age too. Deaf as a post now and mainly sleeps, but jesus do you know about it when there's human food around. It's like she saves up all her energy for the millisecond I/we want to eat.

If she notices me leaving she kicks off, howling and barking til I get back, but if I sneak out without her knowing she's fine and doesn't make a noise.

Mine is deaf as a post too.

If she isn't facing me - then no chance lol . But she still responds with hand signals if she can see me.
