Den of Iniquity

My poor Pooch does not appreciate these temperatures.

Hes got his own fan , a cooling mat and iced water but he is still suffering.

Should I periodically hose him down??

Its the same with fuckwits who leave their dogs in cars whilst they're shopping for new shoes or some shit . So irresponsible and uncaring

Hiding in the shadows

TeenyTinyDoggo has a UV sun tent & a cooling mat.

Does she use them?

No!

Sunbathing she wants to sprawl accross me!

Our South American genetics are designed for this weather

If you are going to hose your pooch down, don't use cold water

Cool or luke warm. Cold water in this heat can cause shock

I have a border terrier, she is part lizard. Her favourite thing to do is lie on the baking hot concrete directly in the sun I'm constantly fetching her back inside but she sneaks out as soon as she's able to she has a chiller mat, she hates it (I put it in her bed so she HAS to lie on it!) We have a paddling pool, she hates water. I tried putting ice cubes in her water bowl, she refused to drink until they'd melted. She just likes to be stupidly hot

Haha I know how you feel I’ve got a cantankerous English bulldog who’s exactly the same lays in the sun all day panting like mad try and move him not a chance

Got him a cool mat and he just looks at it and me as though to say you’ve no chance pal

Its fine so long as the dog is not in the stages of heat stroke already. So don't stress about it too much. Cold water is fine to keep them from overheating, if they are already over heated then you need to gradually bring the heat down instead of the instant body shock of cold water.

The more they are panting the less cold the water should be.

That reminds me. I didnt even know we had lizards in this country until one appeared in the garden the other day . Just sunbathing on the patio . Bizarre it was .
