What was it you almost became great at and what was the reason for your downfall? (lie through your teeth)

I was once the underboss of a prominent family in the Italian mafia. When the Don died I was due to take over till they found out I wasn't Italian. I'd have been a great Don but in the end I was lucky not to be capped by a Capo

I was a CIA spy. Got the goods on many a man. National secrets were mine.

Alternatively, a housemate of mine insisted that my claim to fame was that I'd been around the world on foreign men.
