A tip for keeping a bit cooler - I've been doing the intermittent fasting diet and discovered that my body is feeling much cooler, so much that I've taken to wearing layers to work. I was always the one complaining about being hot now I'm too cold...hoping it's still the same in hot weather. So try not eating during the day, just drink lots of cold water.

I don't think people really realise just how hot kitchens are in the heat. I'm sure they think chefs are there with fans on them or that there's air con or something like that.

The only fans are the extractors above the grill. Ours is a 7ft wide chargrill (big barbecue) 2 foot deep. Imagine the heat coming off that bad boy. Plus the main oven, 2 chicken ovens and overhead grill. It's literally like walking into a wall of fire. All you can do is keep drinking and that's about it. You can't have fans or anything as they could blow something into something else causing cross contamination.

And those big intake fans over the extractor are just sucking in the hot air from outside and blowing it in, to boot. It's not like a cooling fan, it's like having an extra fan heater!

Yep! I forgot to add the fryers, the hot hold and the pot wash too, that washes then steam sanitises the plates etc.

It's brutal.

You have a second or 2 to get desserts out of the kitchen before the ice cream has melted. It's a bitch!

Makes me face palm how many people sit outside in this heat and order ice cream, then moan that it's melted. Erm.... *knock knock* is there anybody on there?

Stinky bins.

That's one thing I hate about hot weather. I'm sat on my doorstep waiting for my lift (work meal - get in) and all I can smell is the wheely bin

I managed an hour and a half before I gave up and found shade. I felt like I was frying my poor skin.

I don't mind the weather, but Autumn and Winter are my favourite seasons. I'd absolutely love this weather if I lived close to the sea or in the countryside. It just feels stuffy and gross here when it's hot.

I double dislike it.

Forgot to get my air con sorted and I’ve been driving all day today.

And my poor pooches really dislike it

"I love the heat. Although it does make me stupidly horny.

This seems to be a recurring theme. I mostly feel manky when it's this hot, how on earth does anyone get the rampant horn?!"

I don't feel horny either I just feel sweaty and gross

Its flippin' horrible

How can anyone like being sweaty as soon as you've showered?

How can anyone get sweaty by not doing much? Lol

Maybe that only happens to me then"

Hahaaa

I'm sweating just sitting still in it

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Hmmm, a hot bus with free double seats so why does a big, sweaty, man choose to sit right next to me?

A found a cool north facing room built of stone to stand in most of the afternoon. The sun still moved round and found me though.
