Nothing you can do IMHO.

I get that feeling all the time at work, just not enough time to everything for everyone.

Inevitably, someone will get let down.

I tend to help those colleagues that I get on with more than those that don't.

Perhaps it is hardly surprising that I was cited as being argumentative and obstructive in my recent performance appraisal by my distractors

Yes I can relate to that too - do what you can to look after other people but accept that you can't please all of the people all of the time etc......

Im liking the idea of a party and a wank LMAO

I know we can't please everyone all the time its just not possible,but everything all comes at once sometimes and its a little overwhelming

lesrn to be better at saying no and/or delegating things to others where possible.

remember you're refusing a task or a request, not the person themselves.

and know where and who your safety valves are ...use them for those times when things really are too much and let them carry a bit of the load, even if its just a listening ear or a giggle

I actually thought I did rather well given I lost my late partner suddenly and had a life changing moment.

However, the movers and shakers (read: schemers and arse-lickers) think differently.

It would be difficult to change or mellow now at my age.

I shall try. However, I am also keeping my axe sharpened!

People always want something from you in exchange for nothing, it's how the world works, and they use things like love, honour & duty to get it. They'll also use guilt and fear to force you to hand over your power to them. By power, I am talking about the things that make you the person you are - if you are the helpful kind they'll try and manipulate your tendency to help out to get what they want. When you realise what the game is that's being played and refuse to play it any further they resent you for it, using guilt & fear again to bring you round to their way of thinking.

Stand fast and eventually you'll see that you become known as someone who is fair but won't be taken advantage of.

Try it, you'll see.
