If you have young children I'd think twice about taking them to see it, if you can remember the hyena scenes from original it is quite gruesome in the remake and might scare children so just throwing that out there for you lot with children just in case it scares them over than that it was great

I still remember the awful scene from Bambi when his mother was killed. I was around 4 at the time.

It was rated as Parental Guidance. It clearly stated before showing that some scenes may be unsuitable.

And anyone who saw it first time round would know what to expect.

I watched it in Imax 3D, loads of kids there watching it

Didn't like this remake It should've had Sir David Attenborough narrating it

And lets face it. Disney do this stuff well, teaching kids that life is not all roses, some do not live happily ever after, and bad things happen. It is life.

I am more concerned about Frozen 2 tbh, that shit looks properly dark, with a trailer that looked awesome in 3D

FWIW I loved it! Stunning footage.

Just wished I had not watched it with my daughter in law who loved the original, she spent the whole night after and despite enjoying it, picking it to bits.

To be honest I don't think they should do remakes of already great movies, they done a great job with first one why ruin it with a remake it just isn't needed..

The lion king remake is good, the animals look very realistic. The random beauty and the beast tune did confuse me. The only bit I was disappointed with was they didn’t really keep scars song be prepared. But I would say it’s a lot more graphic and very real. The film still managed to make me cry

I’ve seen a few people mention this, think I will have to see it before I take my boy.

Im a massive disney fan. And I agree they should leave the original films alone.

It seems the masses disagree after The Lion King became Disney's highest grossing remake

The be fair it was always going to be. Considering the original was their highest grossing animated for a very long time.

The thing with the remakes is they ride the coat tails of the original. They play on nostalgia and make money regardless of being bad or good.

The Lion King remake also has the sensational (points if you get the reference) visual technology going for it that the other remakes kind of didn't.

Personally I loved it. It did the original justice. I had issues with parts of it, they changed a few lines that I felt didn't need to be changed. I'd have loved to have had Jeremy Irons play scar again, Rowan Atkinson as zazu too.

And yet a few changes were amazing, the hyenas being an actual threat this time was one of them.

I said in another thread, it was the one Disney remake that didn't need to happen but was by far the best one that could have been created shot for shot to perfection.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

I personally won't spend my money on these remakes as it shows just how devoid of creativity studios are. The original was perfect and needed no updated version. Disney should instead use their considerable resources to come up with new IP's instead of rehashing for a quick buck.

The only warning I would give is that Jim cummings is no Jeremy Irons and he knows it. Scarr's 'Be Prepared' scene was so downplayed

I agree. Why doesn't Disney do a movie for Mickey Mouse? After all these years, there has never been a movie with Mickey as the main character.

The visuals in the remake are good along with the cast doing the vocals.

The things I didn't like with the remake are the movie's lack of emotion in the characters that made them more connectable in the original, the song Be Prepared is shortened and the Can You Feel The Love Tonight scene makes no sense as it's all during the day.

I'll just stick with the original.
