I concentrate on the camera which leads to bitch face. So I relax my face which leads to sad face. So I try to smile which looks ridiculous.

I find looking up at the camera reduces double chins (in my case) and thinking of something hilarious, like the chances I'll ever own my own home or get a job I enjoy.

I'm exactly the same, it's very rare that I take one that I feel is even vaguely recognisable as me.

Even with all the best angles, tricks and lighting, I'm just resigned to the fact that I look better in person.

It is indeed a very flattering angle for selfies, take it from a slight angle rather than directly face on too, then yes, just take tons of photos with slight variations of angle and expression . Happy snapping

It makes your face look thinner and hides shadows that can age you and gives more perspective to your face....they say we all have a left or right side that's different

My fave selfie was when my phone did the 3 shot burst (damn you Samsung for removing that feature)

Anywhoos, I was getting where i wanted to be, time went off and in 3 shots it captured me hitting my funny bone and the look of horror and pain that followed.

I'm awful at selfies. Face ones. I can take pics of other parts of my body but hate taking pics of my face. I smile and I look like I have wind or I'm constipated. If I don't smile, I look like I'm plotting a murder. I have bad resting bitch face x

I hate my smile and the camera hates me. Apparently I do look better in real life, but getting the camera to agree is a nightmare.

I always struggle with smiling for selfies, end up either grinning like an inane idiot or looking like I'm totally bored and slightly angry.

Setting a timer on the phone can help but best is to take it when you're least expecting it
