It was free i had a bet with one of my team mates dads that i could go a full season without being red carded i won 10 pints and a pizza from his restaurant we won the league that year too so it was nice to celebrate at awards night

I can’t remember, it was Merrydown Cider I think and someone bought it for me. I had to use both hands to lift the glass . It was probably less than a quid - cheap date me and it made me merry and fall down

Yes, I was underage.

I was drinking bitter, when all my friends drank lager.

I had £1 a day dinner money, I'd sneakily make sandwiches & save my dinner money for the evening.

Half a bitter was 47p, lager was 51p

It was pure financial sense to have 2 halves instead of 1
