Why do people say I’m going to “the”Wirral?

It’s called Wirral not “the” Wirral

You don’t say I’m going to the London, the Spain or wherever else?

Some toss pots say ‘off to Asda’s, Tesco’s’ why pluralise it? Unless you’ve a twitch and a tooth or five missing then, not getting why some people are ‘off to Tesco’s’.

this one gets me every time.

They must say in case we think they might of been on about a Tuner of sorts, like a piano one....that lives in the see.
