No experience, but I know of someone who had one fitted. They didn't lose weight as they used to blend mars bars and cakes so they could still eat them. Completely defeated the point in getting it fitted...

No experience personally. but from what I’ve seen on tv, as with any weight loss method you still need to have a certain amount of Will power.

Most places don't offer gastric bands anymore due to the amount of problems.

I know 2 people who have had them and both are as big now as they were before they had them, one has stretched her band and the other had to have it removed after it got stuck round something it shouldn't.

I think the general advice is to go for a gastric sleeve instead. It's a more invasive procedure but the results are much better.

Iv had a couple of friends who have them, one had no problems and loves it.

Onther has developed an alcohol problem, iv seen a lot of research that points to people developing addiction issues after having the op. It makes sense as it does not deal the issues that often cause people to over eat or have an unhealthy relationship with food.

Iv not explained this well but I hope it makes some sense.
