How do you make up for a BAD day?

Jump to newest

Your day hasn't panned out the way you wanted to. Or you've had to deal with one problem after another. Or you broke a nail. Whatever. You've had a BAD day.

How do you deal with it?

I'm drinking prosecco, organising my wardrobe. cleaning the bathroom, and generally feeling frustrated. No eye rolling please. I do what I need to do.

A long shower. Cathartic book/music/film. Moan to a patient friend. Comfort eat but trying really hard not to. Go for a run.

Failing that I have a glass or two of red.

Wine, food , a long bike ride where there's no traffic, a good film, sex (usually with myself )

A phone call or text marathon with a friend, talk bollocks on Fab forums for a bit, YouTube videos, shopping, pampering, meditation, look at old photos, arrange something to look forward to x

Guys you're all awesome!

I'm having prosecco, but I won't say no to red wine.

Tick to pretty much everything else so far and feeling great, though my neighbours may well have something to say about the singing in the shower!

(I'm tone deaf)

More suggestions welcome - you don't know when you need these tips!

I tend to just sulk and feel sorry for myself.

No point fighting it, may ad well just accept it.

"Gym habit means I handle bad days better"

Fitness always helps me feeling mentally healthy or able to deal with what life throws.

Did a run, 200 kettlebell swings and 100 kettlebell snatches this evening, got me feeling straight.

Oh those endorphins...

Either that or I just go onto a "say something nice" thread and tell somebody they're the best without looking who I'm replying to.

Yes, sometimes that's quite effective. I tend to put a limit to it. Like, ok, I'll feel sorry for myself for an hour, or a day. No longer than a day though.

200 kettlebell swings, nice!

I normally do 20 x 4 (mixed with other stuff of course)

May just give the 200 a go.

Burnleyish (She/They)

Stick something angry and ranty on (the run punk run playlist on Spotify is a fav) and hit a trail.

Or similar music but a legs session at the gym till I'm dripping in sweat.

Then bath, pampering and red wine of still needed.

2 sets of 50 with 20kg

1 set of 100 with 16 kg

5 sets (left and right) of 10 snatches on 12kgs each.

I tend to do 300 double swings a day with a 16kg but wanting to up my game and mix it up a little. Snatches are hard!

LOVE my kettlebells.

I always do a "3 good things" list at the end of each day. It's just a habit now after doing it for so long at bedtime with my children. It's amazing how easily we fail to recognise or disregard the positives.

I tend to go to bed early to make sure it doesn’t get any worse, life no matter how bad, always seems to be better after a sleep and waking up to what possibly could be the best day you ever had

I have a shower, make myself a good meal, watch a well loved telly episode (or film) and remind myself how lucky I am to have a job, a bed and a roof over my head.

It usually works; which is handy because bad days are not in short supply.
