Have you ever visited somewhere and thought 'wow, that was crap''

I visited Alcatraz and was bored within 5 minutes and left.

The Knossos Palace, Crete.

The cultural and architectural centre of the Minoan age. There was more concrete and rebuilding there than in the centre of Malia.

In 20 years when the trees have grown it will improve it a bit, but the memorials were all higgledy, with the Police and the Co op!! mixed in with the Royal Engineers, very strange.

Arse End of the Universe, Cumbria

Jerusalem.....expected Calvary to be like the hymn....Green Hill Far Away....Robert Powell toiling up the path.....Michael Palin saying to Eric Idle "Crucifixion?".....

They only built an entire city on the fecking green hill

Wailing Wall was good mind, only a little bit of it allowed for the women, that's cos we're less sinful so our (female) guide said

Good job it was before I started swinging or I'd still be there now pushing me little sin notes into the cracks

Rome springs to mind. I chose it for my honeymoon after watching "Roman Holiday" and fell in love with it.

When I went there in 1998, it was like a building site, as the city was getting ready for 2000.

Perhaps I was with the wrong person and was not able to recreate some of the on-screen romanticism with my ex-hubby. Hence he is an ex I guess.
