The problem with Chelsea is not the manager. They've had some outstanding managers. It's too much player power and a owner who knows FA about football.

Abramovich out and out the rubbish from the team.

The problem started buying Torres and then not controlling Terry and Lampard. Not bad players just not able to follow direction.

Terry and Lampard's days are numbered. Against sides with pace and technique, they get caught short. Torres is a sad tale. From world's deadliest striker to been dumped out of club and country's first team.

Not really surprised after yesterday's result. However, Chelsea do need to start getting younger players in, a good youth system and tell the core of 5/6 players who keep kicking the manager out to 'shut up support the manager or F*** OFF'.

Chelsea will go down to mid table obscurity with the new Financial Fair play rules

Last manager should never have been appointed, just because he had a good season or two at Porto doen't mean a thing. Should have stuck with Ranieri, he started things that he should have been allowed to have finished, buying a good core of English players and also playing good football. Think in time he could have been very successful, just wasn't given the chance. And this is Lynne not Andy, just for the record!!!

Because they wouldn't clear out the old guard like Bremner et al LOL

wasnt mourinho brought in on the back of a couple of decent seasons with porto, and afair he did ok.

no, i sincerely hope chelsea spiral into obscurity. not for the fans, as they are like all fans, dont deserve half the crap they have to put up with, but because i really do think abramovich started destroying british football and still is. since he became mr chelsea he seems to have brought over the idea of getting rid of managers on a whim. its not good. clubs need stability. they should have given him next season at least. writ off this year, sold all the old guard and handed him 100 mill for a new team, then see how he does.

ranieri/mourinho/grant/hiddink and so on, all had the players in their pomp. AVB has got them at the end of their careers. not his fault at all.

It'd be a funny old game if the sole intention was to buy failure. Of course money has bought the title - cups and championships are the by-product of success and success is only achieved through investment in the team. You won't win a Grand Prix in a Mini Cooper.

they certainly lost a good link when they sacked ray wilkins who was a chelsea plater as a teenager,an ex chelsea club captain and had plenty of international experiemce and when he was sacked it seemed a very very strange move indee!,am afraid chelsea are paying now for this wage saving exercise as it cost them a fortune to hire avb, gonna cost another fortune to sack him,and still got to find another manager!.

Brian Clough, the first manager to spend a million pounds on a player? Trevor Francis? The same man who paid a million and a half for Wallace

To be fair, he did mould superb teams out of "non-big buy" players.

"chelsea's problems seem to stem from when they gave ray wilkins the sack he was a firm fav with fans and players and theyve been on the slide since then

Ray Wilkins will forever be remembered for the banan shot for QPR...please tell me someone else rememberes that goal??

just signed a new contract at reading and turned down the wolves job.

chelsea have the same problem that man u and arsenal WILL have, and thats the spectre of old managers being there.

Roberto Di Matteo has been given a 45 minute rolling contract by the club’s owner, Roman Abramovich, with the option to extend to a full 90 minutes if they are winning at half time.

Swansea's manager right?

I see your thinking. Bring attacking football to Stamford Bridge.

IMHO Brendan Rodgers would stay at his club because he has the freedom to manage the club with his ideals. Only a madman would take the Chelsea vacancy with such a tyrant of an owner!

I think Chelsea should re-appoint AVB, he was doing a wonderful job of fucking that team up.

At the rates Chelsea pay i'd take the job for 45 minutes.

I'd substitute Terry after 1 minute n all i would

The 2 worst jobs in England foorball are up for grabs. England manager is a total poisoned chalice of a job, not won anything since 66 but has had so much promise.Best manager was Terry Venibles but cos he had balls he was treated badly. Next worse job ... working as manager at Chelsea, Abramovich buys the players and pushes the manager to pick them. Made some awful signings but also kept an ageing team.John Terry for manager maybe cos he gets away with anything he does on and off the field.

i would claim 3 for 3 as bruce didnt last much longer after the 1-1 draw with us, so if he had managed to stay on, reckon we would have nailed him by beating them 4-0
