Hi All! I would like to ask your opinion on something that i have been trying to figure out for a while:

Women/Couples obviously have “the power” to request face pics in your first message but always feel free not to reciprocate if they don’t like you. Most of the time just blocking you. Fair enough if they don’t like you but it would be nice at least to see someone that saw you. Wouldn’t it be helpful to have a tool that would allow people to swap face pics simultaneously?

What difference would it make? They're still not interested, wouldn't it be worse if you saw them and fancied them?

Surely seeing them is pointless if they're not into you?

I think it's fine as is, people can send a face pic if they want to.

Thanks for your replies ladies! my point is that when you agree to swap photos and agree to go first the other party should make the effort to respond, and not “trick” you in going first so they have the chance not to reciprocate.

The way I go about it is, if I get asked to provide a face pic without being sent one with said request then I won't be sending one.

If I request a face pic I will send one with my request. If that is not acceptable for the people I'm conversing with them that is pretty much the end of the conversation.

I agree that is unfair but I also agree no point, it's just a negative vibe, you gotta get used to it here. theirs someone for everyone here keep plugging away.

Yeah, I mean, they probably should, to be polite. But does it really matter? It's not gonna make a difference either way if they're not keen on you.

My mug is public cos I got sick of being asked for face pics, everyone can see it now! Problem solved

We read a post when we first joined that stated the etiquette was the person who makes initial contact should be the first to send a pic.

The logic being they were the interested party trying to get the others attention.

It made sense and seems very logical and we've stood by that ever since.

The only downside is it makes us reluctant to make initial contact

I tend to not over think it too much - if someone sends me a Face Pic I'll usually respond in kind, if I'm interested in seeing theirs, I always send mine first, if they don't send one back then no biggie, if conversation then carries on and we build a connection of sorts then I might ask for theirs again, especially if it's heading down the route where we may meet at some point.

I sometimes think a little too much can be made of etiquette around these things though - ultimately if people choose not to send their face pic that's their prerogative, just as choosing to send your own is yours.
