I'm a couple of digital dating apps, one has the swipey left rightg bit.

Its very easy to dismiss folk with the swipe or click of a button,

Yes, but swiping left or right is just a physical manifestation of a mental process. In a bar for instance I'd decide in a split second if I found someone attractive enough (to me) to approach or to potentially date if approached me.
