Why does nobody reply anymore

I have been on and off this site now for about 6 or 7 years now. At first, I was talking to and meeting with some very nice people and have great memories of the meets also.

Over the years though, obviously depending on what mood you are in, I find the lack of correspondence from people that I have sent a message to, which is generally more than a few words, very disappointing.

Have people's standards grown beyond the original idea of the site, or are people just far too up themselves to even respond to a few messages.

I’ve been on and off for a fair few years and it’s just the same - maybe it’s your approach ?

Maybe the volume of site users has grown, meaning the number of messages has grown, so people pick and choose in a more cut-throat way?

This too.

Admittedly it isn't all the time that abuse is hurled once rejection has happened, but it does happen.

The site FAQs even state that no reply isn't rude. It may take a little getting used to thinking like that but it's the reality of the site.

I expect the answer is no. It also clearly states in FAQs that ni reply isn't rude, it's just a no.

Guys far outnumber women and number of emails are overwhelming. Also some emails are inappropriate or offensive.... There’s probably a need now to make Fab a subscription service to sort out the serious users from the casual ones

I reply to people who I might realistically meet up with unless I'm *really* bored.

If I don't a get a reply I assume it's because they're not interested. Take from that what you will.

Junk mail through the letter box isn’t the same as somebody saying hi to another person and usually complementary comment about them too as personally I don’t send the fist message to people unless I like the look of them x

I get loads of messages but I also have the benefit of being bed bound and on maternity leave. So loads of time to kill.

I could reply to everyone.

For two weeks I replied to most people. I was polite and nice in my rejection.

And I still got abuse.

I actually got more abuse when rejecting, than just whenever I deleted the message with no reply.

Now, I could put my filters up, blah blah blah. Nah. I like free range, I do. Don’t blame me, for men sending me abuse.

So OP - I’d rather just not reply at all to be honest. I’ll reply to well thought out, lovely messages. Random shitey ones? Nah.

Also; I’m fully expecting you to reply to everyone who has replied to this forum post

I just don't find sites like this sexy any more. They're fun at first, instashag for women and all that but then...well you kinda see how shallow they are.

I'll probably go back to blocking all men at some point soon and just use here for events.

Sometimes it’s just too much like hard work to reply to all messages especially when the same guys message you 2 weeks after you have already sent them a polite thanks but no thanks. And often if you do reply they won’t take no for an answer and will try to offer a way around your polite refusal meaning more messages. I do try to be nice but this is supposed to be fun not a chore and frankly sometimes I can’t be bothered. Sorry.
