You can go to a gay sauna with no worries as you will be asked what you are looking for and if you say you are just looking most will respect that.

I have been to the one in BRISTOL before and not felt any threat at all everyone was friendly and respected that I was there to see and relax.

You can go as far as you want to, just be up front with anyone who approaches you.

Just smile be polite and relax

Gay/bi saunas are generally pretty safe places. You can expect to be excited and nervous going in the first time, this is perfectly normal. Usually after going through the front door you enter a lobby area and will be asked if its your first time and that your aware/happy that male on male activities may be occuring inside. Assuming your happy with this you will be admitted and usually given a towel and directed to the changing area where you are expected to full strip and just wear your towel.

Most saunas have a spa/sauna area and then a seperate area with a mixture of private cabins, more public playrooms (which may included darkrooms) and cinema room(s) playing gay porn. Officially in most saunas the spa areas are not for sexual activity but don't be too suprised if some is occuring here, most of the activity will occur in the playrooms. Most good saunas have supplies of condoms and lube dotted around the play areas with bins for disposal of used items.

You will often find a number of men cruising around the playrooms whilst other will take up provacative positions hoping to entice others to join them. If anyone is interested and approaches you they may come out and start talking to you but in my experience they are more likely to place a hand on your thigh or chest and see how you react. If you move away most take the message but if need be just politely but firmly say no and you will be respected and if not other will usual interceed so that your wishes are respected. If all else fails you can always go back to the staffed area and get their help.

Think I'm going to go on wednesday and have a look around and see what I think of it.
