Valencia - loved he contrast between old and new town, the old river that’s not a river anymore, linking the old and new town, makes for a lovely walk and the fact it’s also got a beautiful beech.... think the hotel having a jacuzzi on the rooftop with such a beautiful view too helped top off a wonderful city break

I wouldn't advise anybody to go to Fuerte, I prefer it quiet, less commercialised and largely unspoilt like it is.

The last thing I'd want to see is a British/Irish/Tartan Arms on every corner. People who want that can swim to Playa Blanca and get the bus to PDC.

Fuerteventura is my favourite destination on a regular basis. But like Torch I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

Jamaica was a fantastic holiday but be very selective about where you go.

I wouldn’t go to Cape Verde again, at least not during the Summer.

I'm looking for a week towards the back end of summer and the wife suggested Cape Verde but I've never heard anybody say anything overly positive about it.

Prob back to Fuerte.

I'm a great believer in not going to the same place again despite how good it is because the next place could be even better(or worse) but that's half the fun.

I often meet people who say I've been here 27 years running and you think fair play for being happy but it's not for me

There is so little there. During the summer it is very humid and infested with flies because there’s no wind. I hear it feels completely different during the Winter because of the Fuerteventura-like breeze. Even the locals said they hate it during the summer.

Also the vibe is very pushy hard sell. There’s nothing to see there. The ‘Postcard’ island tour starts at a water station where the locals come to get their water. It’s very impoverished and the tourists are their only real source of income. It felt uncomfortable most of the time outside of the hotel complex.

Unfortunately the financial crash affected it’s development which means it’s got a lot of incomplete complexes and never developed sufficiently to sustain the local economy, unlike Fuerteventura that did.

I travel the world working, but Fuerteventura is still the only place in the world where I feel relaxed within 10 minutes of getting off the plane and it remains like that until I leave.

I guess if they think they've found perfection it's the fear of "what if" a new place is worse.

To many adventures to be had for me but they've found happiness so all is good

We travel a lot, tend to re visit couple of our fave places each year but always try and try somewhere new.

For the people that re visit same place every year, why not ? If that’s where they like to enjoy their holidays then great

Places we favour and would recommend .....

South of France (class, weather, food)

Winelands of South Africa (wine, food, weather, people)

Many parts of Thailand (lots of different sorts of holidays to be had within one country)

New York

Our next 5 weekends look like this ....

New York

Atlanta

Riviera Maya

London

Paris

There are a number of places I would like to revisit. The first is a little bit of the Donne Valley, partly to go and check that the dry stone wall I helped repair is still standing but also as it is a wonderful remote location with a cinamatically vast sky.

"

I wouldn’t go to Cape Verde again, at least not during the Summer. "

I was bitterly disappointed with Cape Verde it’s like the moon with a bit of sand. Because the sea is rip tide there are no shells or anything on the beach. The Verde islands are also trade winds islands so it gets very blustery at times. Staying that I spend most of it in a state of inebriation so it didn’t matter I wouldn’t go back.

I’ve been to a lot of places but the two that really captured my heart were New Zealand - been a few times and could happily move out there. My next go to place is Guernsey, it’s an absolutely charming small island. Rich in heritage, welcoming and absolutely stunning. (and has a few resident fabbers too!)

My usual go to place is Hurghada in Egypt

Still quite a few places on my to do list.... Reims and Epernay for obvious reasons! I’m a champagne lover

"Fuerteventura is my favourite destination on a regular basis.

Unfortunately the financial crash affected it’s development which means it’s got a lot of incomplete complexes and never developed sufficiently to sustain the local economy, unlike Fuerteventura that did."

Surely that’s dependant in which island you visit, they are all very different! We loved it in Sal and Santa Maria, but Boa Vista is like the surface of Mars
