Out of date profile pictures

Just why? Our’s are all within 3 months since we didn’t really have any before joining Fab.

But some we’ve seen are 10 years old. The worst was 2003 based on the visible time stamp.

What’s the oldest you’ve seen (or would admit to)?

Completely agree, especially when swapping face pictures I usually take one to send. One guy sent me a picture and couldn’t understand why I wasn’t happy with a picture that was from 2008!! Apparently he hadn’t changed much??

I personally think photos that are older than, say, 12 months should be deleted.

I doubt know how a 10 year old photo is supposed to be representative!

That would save a lot of server storage

I wouldn't post any that aren't recent. I think my oldest is maybe three months? And as I lose photo space, I'll delete older ones and add new ones.

I can't believe people actually use photos that are years old! It must come as a shock when you video chat or meet

As every picture uploaded to Fab has ALL the exif data removed on upload, how can you possibly know when a picture was taken, or for that matter even know when it was uploaded ?

The 2003 one had the old school date & time stamp included on the image itself.

The others have the posting date on them, so seen 2008 & 2009 on quite a few.

Wondered about the EXIF data and if it was stripped. Now I know

Stripping Exif data is not unique to Fab, it happens on lot's and lot's of perfectly normal forums nowdays. It protects the uploading user from tracking and up upfront identification, which in turn protects the user and the forum from potential abuse.

In some respects, it may not be easy for some people to get pics taken of them.

I have found in recent years that a lot of people aren't keen on taking pics of me, so that I can use them on my profile.

Equally, I'm not really technically minded to ensure my self portraits get onto the correct links and don't inadvertently end up in a friend's or family's Inbox??

So, some like me, have to wait until the right person comes along....

On another site, I kept the same pic for about 8 years.

I kept meaning to change it, just never got around to it. I always had meets though and nobody ever said anything.

I can assure everyone that I am more tech aware nowadays and all my pics are within a year

I have to agree to a degree. But I don't mind if people have older pics as long as they have up to date ones too. The oldest on my profile is about 18months but the newist was taken last night

Oh yes they do

I suppose everyone wants to show themselves off in the way they feel is their best. If thats 10 years or 10 days ago, it's their choice.

Ultimately they get found out when they meet , but there's no way of stopping it. I guess that's why people quite often want to cam first

One guy had old photos of him and pretended to be 16 years youger than he really was. He was pretty fit in his youth tbh but age had not been kind to him.

Totally get why he did it.

I guess my oldest pics are from when i joined the site, about 18 months maybe 2 years ago. I do however have some face selfies posted that are taken during the last 2 to 6 months.

I live in hope of finding a friend (with or without benefits) to do some decent lingerie shots for me once in a while, so that i can replace some of my older photos...

I’ve seen a few accounts where the pics are def from the 90’s but posted recently ... one in particular I’ve bumped into at a club and def the pics are at least 20 years out of date !!!

We met a couple last year when we joined as a couple. They had sent face pics so we’d recognise them! Don’t know who they were kidding but we were stood next to them and didn’t recognise them! They’d also lied about their age on Fab (by 10 years!) their response to this deliberate deception what ‘everyone lies on fab’

Ours are within a year of date and we actually look better in the flesh (I’d like to think!!) so I’m not too worried about them being 12 months old. We do upload regularly though.
