You could consider having your eyelashes coloured/dyed?

Haven't tried it myself so can't recommend it, just know it exists!

What kind of look are you going for? Natural, big lashes, etc?

Urban Decay Troublemaker is my go to for meets, apparently sex proof (I've had no issues). I like Smashbox Full Exposure as a more natural but buildable mascara.

Too Faced Better than Sex and Lancome Monsieur Big are highly rated but no personal experience.

Does it come with a brush small enough?

I’ve tried a sponge then a rough greeny thing from the kitchen and will soon be on to sandpaper.

Big lashes. This is for the very important occasion that I've been making the odd query about. I'm not great at applying false lashes. I'll research the ones you've recommended, thanks

I was taught to get fuller lashes.

Wiggle the brush on the base of lashes the roll it to the tips

And works

Not water proof as that is a bastard to get off with normal make up removal;

But great lashes start with Loreal paradise primer extactic, followed up with Loreal Voluminous extra black, brilliant coverage, great brush and even distribution, highly recommend

Troublemaker gives me big lashes but mine are naturally black and full. Monsieur Big is supposed to be quite dramatic according to what I've read. Skip the Smashbox for your purposes.

No7 Extreme Length waterproof mascara is fab and affordable.

I have tried so many mascaras and my favourite is the Too Faced Better Than Sex one but it's not waterproof and the waterproof one isn't meant to be as good. If waterproof isn't esential I'd highly recommend trying it! It adds so much length and it's an intense black colour and there's no clumps.

Oh and invest in an eyelash curler and use it before applying mascara. It makes a huge difference.

I wear waterproof all the time, it smudges otherwise and it means I don't have to take it off when I go swimming

Also considering I suffer from MAJOR dry eye symptoms, I still don't need a water proof mascara, so might be worth trying some of the new one's and you might be surprised

Check this out, too.

More mature people tend towards hooded lids so it might be quite useful for you. (in terms of a colour to add, usually you go on the opposite side of the colour wheel to your eye colour to make them pop)

My eyes are my most striking feature so I pay attention to my technique.

I think this one would help enhance the eyes (given my colouring I'd be a bit intimidated by black, I tend to reach for dark brown or grey)
