Feeling low

Firstly this is not a look at me thread, unless we are friends then there is only my profile picture available to view.

I am fat and not pretty but that is something that generally I am ok with but recently I have just been feeling low about myself. Normally it is just a day or two and I am back to normal (if there is such a thing as normal) but its been a few weeks now.

People say that I’m not fat or I am pretty but one look at hot pics proves otherwise so I don’t look there anymore.

Negative comments from my ex don’t help but he’s not likely to ever stop that, we have a child so I can’t ignore him which would be the easy answer.

My question is am I the only one to feel like this? If not, how do you make yourself feel better about yourself? Answers from anyone who doesn't get these feelings also welcome. Thanks x

It’s normal to feel it, but if it doesn’t pass then you should try and change that so you’re all good so far.

The thing that might help is to think about how many other people find you attractive and that fat is a label that anyone can put on themselves. The trick is not to define yourself with it.

I think that is the bit I am struggling with.

Firstly, you can be fat and beautiful.

If you're not feeling great about yourself, find something you can do that will make you feel better. Workout, I find feeling fitter and stronger makes me feel better about my body.

Remind yourself that plenty of people do and will think you're beautiful.

I think most people feel a bit shit about how they look sometimes, and that's OK.

Don't beat yourself up

I actually dislike the term fat. Actually I dislike most terms to describe a body like curvy, slim, average etc. What the fuck is average anyway? And curvy? That could mean so many different things to different people.

At the end of the day you need to be comfortable in your own skin and that’s no easy task I know, I’ve been there. Exes are exes for a reason, they’re no good for you or you’d still be together.

Sweetie, flaunt what you’ve got! Fuck the haters, they’re not worth getting upset over. I’m a good listener if you ever want to pm me and have a chat. Purely friendly just so you have someone to rant to who

Might just understand how you feel

"Hot pics"

I look at the TV/CD hot pics and think the same, they all look amazing, this can upset me when I slip on a dress and I just don't feel pretty.

Then I go to a club and get so many compliments and so much attention, then I feel on top of the world.

I also spend a lot of time looking for compliments on here.

For the record I think you both look rather beautiful.

Keep your chin up hun, if we all looked the same the world would be rather dull xxx xxx

Also just want to say I had a little nosy at your verifications and it seems there’s a few people there that think you’re amazing! Maybe start believing it for yourself xx

You're not the only one to feel that way.

I know you won't believe me but you look lovely on your profile picture and you definitely don't look overweight from what I can see. And even if you did look bigger, so what? We are more than our bodies and only people who share that view are worth your time.

It's hard not to compare yourself to others but be the best version of yourself so you can feel your best. Maybe get out for lots of walks, eat healthier foods and buy an outfit or some makeup that will give you a small boost. And don't forget to talk to someone too when you're feeling down, don't keep it all bottled up.

You are you and that's your superpower!

I feel your pain on this one. I have anxiety which is mainly a result of heaving bullying many years ago. With low self confidence and possible body dysphoria.

I found swinging helped my confidence a lot but I still get periods of low times. Like now I feel fat ugly and horrible!! I fixate on things like my hair having to be perfectly straight, etc due to past issues.

It's a hard one but you have to get through it. With my therapy they taught me techniques. To deal with this. I find changing my appearance or wearing make up can help.

It doesn't help I'm a period of grief due to loss of relatives. Which has caused binge eating and a flare of anxiety.

But I find going to the gym helps or exercise of some sort to clear the mind.

I'm always happy to chat... It's K the female half btw

You look very pretty to me, and from your verifications, you sound like quite a lot of fun. We all have off days. Sometimes I look in the mirror and think "damn you look handsome" and then have to go and enjoy a quick Jodrell, other days I think "oh dear, not looking quite so good today", but still go and have a quick Jodrell.

I don’t think looking at the hot pics on here and comparing yourself to them will help at all .

What will help is to read your veris and recall the meets . And a chat with your partner and a few friends . It will make you see things more realistically and you’ll soon forget this blip you’re having at the moment .

All of us feel like this sometimes , it’s human nature . Get your mind out of the bad place it’s in and focus on something more positive if you can .
