This is what has put me off attending the London one. The Pride marches just seem to be getting more and more militant.

Its not exactly a lgbt strict event that no one else can attend now is it

Does this mean there’s going to be road closures this weekend? I’ve got places to go. Can’t be sitting in traffic!

I’m not a fan of all these events when they end up closing off all the roads. London is busy as it is during the weekends. All these events just add to it.

For those who are going. Enjoy.

Because straight people dont need to celebrate having straight rights, it's not something they've needed to fight for. It doesnt mean that they arent more than welcome to attend events and you very well know that.

And it's now called lgbt pride, so no, not exclusive to just gays, its everyone that falls under the lgbtq+ banner

No, it’s an ale, a bitter. Famously brewed in Chiswick but just been sold to the Japanese.

London Pride is locally known as ‘Chelsea ale’

As in pride of London as only London club to have won the champions league.

Pride is about the struggle that LGBT+ people suffer still on a daily basis to have equality and exceptance. Please tell me in which country being heterosexual is illegal? Please tell me how often groups of men harass you into kissing your partner on a bus?

When these things are no longer an issue for the LGBT community then Pride wont be necessary.

I (Mr) will be marching at london as an ally to my works LGBT group and at Croydon Pride the week later with mrs for the charity i volunteer for.

One day Pride hopefully wont be needed, we are not there yet.

Where on earth do you think that is happening? And even if it was, that's part of certain aspects of gay culture. If people dont want to he subjected to it or gave their kids do so then they dont need to come.

But I mean, humping each other? Really? Jesus christ.

Check out some of the post-parade events at Phoenix Arts Club, OP...guaranteed to make friends there i can promise you, and have a great night to boot!

I managed a drag cabaret bar in Soho for a few years and worked in the theatre world for a few more, as a 'straight' I'm always honoured to be invited to celebrate Pride with my LGBT+ friends, and always had a great time.

This year I'm running one of the Pride events so will see it from a different angle, but still ready for a great weekend

They cant really hijack it but there is a lot more business representation. They definitely piggy back onto the events to promote their own business under the guise of support, but there is also definitely businesses out there that do do a lot for their lgbt employees

My company definitely gets involved but also advertises obviously. I think the recent LGBT flight was an example.

Large companies especially recognise the LGBT community as a talent pool, so a company that is seen to be actively pro-LGBT thinks it has more chance of recruiting in that market.

That's the logic for companies like British Aerospace. But there are some who object to their participation because it sells products to countries that are very anti-LGBT.

I can’t wait!! My company is part of the parade (which I have volunteered to be part of!) I love the vibe of the whole day!

While I’m asked if I’m straight or gay when I just say I’m anything it’s usually an open acceptance!

Love the whole day! Just wish it was a week!!

See you all there tomorrow xxxxx
