A lot of people do have all these unrealistic relationship expectations based on Instagram posts, american TV series and what they see on stuff like TOWIE.

Yes,some of those shows seem to show people giving lifelong commitments within what equates to only a few TV minutes.

It's not dead, romance is very alive and is beautiful. But when it comes to love and true life partnerships there is far more than just romance. Well far more than the bold, giddy, fickle kind of romance that we often think about when we think romance. Not that that kind of romance isn't cool but the is a far deeper and understated romance.

In a book I was reading the other day a female who was not a young woman, and not old either when asked to call her new suitor said her mum had raised her never to call a man. She then closed the door in his face after having had a great time with him through an arranged date by friends. He waited all next day for her call and ended up having to call her.

He had been raised in the same way as her where the male was proactive his thoughts after all that, women who call men are missing out on the thrill of the chase. They ended up in a very happy marriage, this story appeared in a book I never thought it would!
