What do you think could be improved?

And yes, people can be ‘too nice’ imo

There's not such a thing as too nice. There is such a thing as meek and boring though.

Three hypothetical messages, same imagined intent.

"woah baby I'm gonna destroy you!"

"Love your profile. You look great. I see we have common interests" (etc, make it personal)

"I do hope I'm not bothering you, can I please ask you a question?"

I'll block the first, consider the second, delete the third.

I disagree with the Queen - there's no such thing as "too nice" - there's sickly over the top false nice but if you are genuinely and naturally a nice person then that can never be too much - being true to yourself is all you can be.

Two veris in the last couple of months would suggest to me that you're my going far wrong either OP

Quite often 'too nice' is code for ' I like you but I don't fancy you'

If someone says you're too nice it just means they aren't interested and you're not their type.

Forgive me for saying but You’re not a bad looking guy for your age! And also I think your profile is fine. The problem with being too nice if you’re looking for single females is most of them come here to find something they crave and that’s usually hot, nasty dirty sex. They don’t want to be wined and dined.

There are some out there tho! So keep trying and don’t change your personality, it’s who you are.

I'd never tell someone they're too nice. The world, particularly Fab, needs more nice.

It can be a way of deflecting unwanted interest. Most of the guys here who tell me that they're too nice are either a) lying (the horrible comes out eventually) or b) don't cut to the chase of what they're after.

In my experience women who say you're too nice will consistently pursue and end up with absolute arseholes, I'm sure some of them just like the drama

I've had the too nice thing. What can you do, turn into an arsehole. I just accept there after something else and move along. It can be disheartening but stay true to who you are op

I only ever date (and married) nice guys. I’ve never been into bad boys. Some men are ‘too nice’ and what I mean by that is maybe they don’t have an edge for me, something that will keep me interested. I’m not after a yes man, I don’t want a difficult one either. I just need a nice guy who stimulates my mind and challenges me a bit.

I've ascertained to be many things in my life, but I'm pretty sure being an arsehole wasn't one of them

Too nice wouldn't cut it with Mrs F, she likes to be kept on her toes as she'd get bored of you.

As she says 'you've got to have something about ya'

I think she secretly likes me leading the way haha.

Nice is ok

Albeit, the combination of nice and forgetting to remove tags from your new pair of trousers could be deemed a deal breaker maybe...

Too nice can sometimes mean no edge, which can also be codeword for borderline boring. Personally I've only ever gone for nice guys (with one exception many moons ago, that I won't go into).

Agree Nice is always a safe bet

Who'd want to be grandiloquent, supercilious, or pompous anyhow?...

And that's just it - what is "nice" anyway? One person's "nice", will be another person's "boring", in fact at school we were taught not to use "nice" as it was such a fluffy subjective word that can mean different things to different people.

In fact the last sentence of your post probably doesn't need the word "nice" at all and would probably read better as "I just need a guy who stimulates my mind and challenges me a bit" as the "stimulates my mind" bit would rule out anyone who wasn't "nice"

Very true, it wasn’t needed and very self explanatory.

Indeed, in fact I'd go as far as to say it's one of those words we throw in there because we don't have any others that fit and it's "nice" to do so

It's also an easy word on here to throw about to create a positive image "...oh but I'm a nice guy really", "why won't people meet me, I'm really nice" etc etc

We should start a campaign for its removal from the language unless it's being used to describe a biscuit or a city in France
