"In Pearceys defence he did not have much to choose from last night BUT i would have put Walcott on sooner, his confidence is sky high after the weekend thrashing of spurs" to be fair his main selling point was that he knew most of the players from under 21s he shouldnt of had many problems picking a team lol

"If Capello was still boss, there is no way we would have lost last night. I'm not a Pearce fan. He was a great player, but he doesn't inspire me as a manager. We looked ok in patches last night, but if he takes up to Euro's we'll be back before the post cards" Lol I like saucy postcards. ![]()

"Capello would have stuck with Terry/Cole et al and we'd have been pulverised by the Dutch. The younguns did themselves a lot of credit by not giving up and that third goal was a deflection so a bit of a fluke really." I'm not critical of team selection, as I believe the team that played last night did ok. International tactician? Yeah, and my cocks a kipper

"Capello overated?? He's one of the most decorated coaches of the modern era. What has Stuart Pearce won? Maybe a League Cup? Yeah, World Class that mate" He may be a decorated manager Jack but I have problems with a man who sees no wrong in his captain shagging his teammate's missus, and then that same captain racially abusing the cousin of another teammate. Then he had the audacity to question the FA when he complained about not being able to pick the team he wanted. Managerial success only counts for so much but it doesn't make one indispensable. He had to go

"I'd rather a manager who never smiled and won something than one free with his laughter but empty in what he delivers." and you'll wait a long time before Stuart Pearce delivers us anything. He was a great player yes, a leader?, no way. There's more to being a leader than setting an example. He needs to communicate, he looked like a little boy lost last night

If Redknapp wants to stop at Spurs then let him (which precludes Mourinho taking over there and then he can fill Fergie's shoes at Man Utd a year or so from now). In fact, now I think about it - I WANT Pearce to get the job lol.

"you know, 1966 was a long time ago. Just accept the English football team is quite utterly rubbish and that you'll never realistically win anything for ages. It works well for the Scots, Welsh and Irish. We all know our teams are rubbish and as a result don't care if we lose or win. " But I do care. I want to win every match we turn out for. The Welsh, Scottish, and Irish, can accept being shite, but I'm not going to.

"It does matter if we lose. When people say it doesn't it just displays a weakness that's at the heart of what's wrong." jumpers for goalposts Self belief. I can do it. I can do it. I can do it, I can do it, I can really move from my head right down to my blue suede shoes. Isn't it? Rubettes, 1973? Marvellous. It is only a game and England are shite at it! At least Scotland drew their match. ![]()
