What was your first single

As a child i got into music at an early age and loved to listen to the charts each Sunday.

I finally got a record player (god i feel old) one christmas with Slades epic legendary Christmas song.

What was your first single?

I was told i would be bought a single each week and i requested 'Friggin in the Riggin' by the Sex Pistols only to be bought 'Brown girl in the ring' by Boney M lol

Have fun

It was Benny Hill - Ernie, the fastest milkman in the west. Bought for a Christmas present by my parents along with my all new, super dooper hi fidelity, record player. You know the kind, with the speaker in the lid and the stylus that flipped over from LP to 78.

The first single that I actually bought myself was My Coo Ca Choo by Alvin Stardust. Cost me 45p and it was on the 'Magnet' label - hows that for a good memory ?

My first bought single was from my next door neighbour, he was so desperate for some fags, he sold me a Northern soul record it was by

The John Schroder orcherstra - I'm going to change.

"Rock On...David Essex

That was mine as well, well it was the first record i officially bought for myself with a record token i had for christmas.

Before that my mum went to a second hand shop and bought a record player that looked like toaster and it just took singles (dont know what happened to the other one cause we had other records as little kids)

Anyway armed with this record player we went to the shop to buy a record for it and it was T rex sold gold easy action

North West

I Hate to admit this but its was

The Bare Necessities (Jungle Book)

Look for the bare necessities

The simple bare necessities

Forget about your worries and your strife

I mean the bare necessities

Old Mother Nature's recipes

That brings the bare necessities of life

Wherever I wander, wherever I roam

I couldn't be fonder of my big home

The bees are buzzin' in the tree

To make some honey just for me

When you look under the rocks and plants

And take a glance at the fancy ants

Then maybe try a few

The bare necessities of life will come to you

They'll come to you!

Look for the bare necessities

The simple bare necessities

Forget about your worries and your strife

I mean the bare necessities

That's why a bear can rest at ease

With just the bare necessities of life

Now when you pick a pawpaw

Or a prickly pear

And you prick a raw paw

Next time beware

Don't pick the prickly pear by the paw

When you pick a pear

Try to use the claw

But you don't need to use the claw

When you pick a pear of the big pawpaw

Have I given you a clue ?

The bare necessities of life will come to you

They'll come to you!

So just try and relax, yeah cool it

Fall apart in my backyard

'Cause let me tell you something little britches

If you act like that bee acts, uh uh

You're working too hard

And don't spend your time lookin' around

For something you want that can't be found

When you find out you can live without it

And go along not thinkin' about it

I'll tell you something true

The bare necessities of life will come to you
