When a member is seen as 'online' is this real time or is there a delay?

Often when sending a message to someone online, I find that once sent,the person has been off line 5 mins or more...I'm not that slow at writing!Any ideas?

I think when some see a message they think 'fuuuuuuuck, message, wah, wah, wah' and then run for the hills in the hope that it isn't there when they log back in

Private interaction isn't always comfortable

There and to the left a bit

I think from past similar threads it can take up to 15 minutes for someone to show offline - the message will still be there for them when they come back though OP so don't sweat it
