i watched "the iron lady" i know im not really old enough to remember the bad times she brought to the country so dont start with the age thing, it was a good film because they showed her with all the flaws people have, and it was a british film like the kings speach

The Muppets was great fun, I managed to talk my friend out of going to see the awful Phantom Menace in 3D so we saw that instead.

i have seen "war horse" yes your right its good but i was not really moved by it, some friends from work saw it and said they cried but it didnt make me feel that kind of emmotion, was still very good though and dartmoor looked lovely, ok i was a little moved when they charged the german machine guns and all you saw were the horses come through in to the woods, you didnt need to see the soldiers shot to get the point of those scene

it's very violent, in a Tarrantino way, but I really enjoyed every second of it. The ending is just amazing.

Its had mixed reviews, some love it and some dont. I cried like a baby, my mother didnt lol. I dont have good concentration so im better with basic films that dont have a heavy plot to them, at least with a book i can go over the bits i miss

Two films spring to mind

I can remember watching Rocky 2 at Dudley Plaza, and when Rocky knocked out Apollo Creed the cinema erupted, just like it was a real fight.

It was an unbelievable experience, lol

and the time before that was in early 70's when I watched The Exorcist at Stourbridge ABC.

The film was good but the hype the from the press made it very very memorable. The vicar was there along with St Johns ambulance.

Just a quick heads up for anyone with Film4, there's a stunning film called 'A Prophet' on tomorrow at 10:55pm if anyone's never seen it. Easily comes in my top 5 films of all time.

'Just Another Love Story' not a new film, just one I hadn't gotten around to till reminded by another post earlier this week

Not the perfect movie, but the most enjoyable I've watched in a while. Slow burner, some great dialogue that had me giggling despite the serious predicament.

oh.. and the 'car crash' scene was beautiful and mesmerizing!

oh..and the nail through the head after a good skull bashing was a nice touch

loved the rocky films well maybe not the 5th one but had to watch it lol, always felt like training as soon as the music started "hearts on fire

strong desire rages deep within

hearts on fire fever's rising high

the moment of truth draws near" i know its from the 4th one but thats the best training song in all 6 lol

Great film, we enjoyed it, but then we both loved Mesrine (parts 1 & 2)

Best film seen recently was Drive, great script, directing and understated acting combine to make a very gripping movie. 80's style soundtrack is lovely too.

has anyone seen the new " girl with the dragon tattoo" i watched the original ones and thought they were good, well the 1st on e and the 2nd one the 3rd had a very weird ending, i dont really like when they try to remake something for a wider audence, but saying that i recon with how good effects are they should remake jaws but keep it like the original with reguard to not seeing it right away but having the music give you the creeps, it was more scary not seeing it but hearing

I guess remaking Jaws with today's special effect could have a bigger impact. But then how in the world can a movie make a bigger impact??? I think it put off millions of people from swimming in the sea lol

I can't even bear swimming in a lake. As soon as I can't see the bottom I freak out and think my legs will be bitten off

im not saying it would have a bigger impact just that the effects would be better, they could make the shark look a lot more realistic, dont change the story just make things look less rubbery

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy .. I really enjoyed it.. it was very well acted, good pace, interesting story ... I really like the style, the diffused, downbeat look ... It has the same styling as the directors other well known (and better) film .. let the right one in.

Yup, after reading the graphic novel ages ago, I finally got round to watching the film last year. One of the few comic-adaps that actually does justice to the source material. Cracking film
