How would you ladies go about asking someone out? I habe loads of confidence on dating apps or when out but other than that I wouldn't know where to start .

The guy in question is someone I work with. We both started around the same time. I know he is single from chatting while working.

I’m not a chick but I can give you a mans view.

Tactfully steer the next conversation you have with him towards food and if he divulges his favourite meal (you may need to prompt him a bit) then casually drop in that you cook a terrific “insert his food choice” and you’d love to cook it for him sometime.

Men love food, especially when cooked by hot women.

I'd not generally date someone from work but if I wanted to, I'd not probably term it a date, as I'd steer conversation towards us spending time together away from work. Once you are free of working constraints, it would then be about us getting to know each other, as this doesn't need to be a rigid process. Once you both gain more personal intimacy and understanding of each colour, I would then develop things towards us being romantic friends. Feel free to flirt. With the summer here, it opens tons of opportunities to get out. Walks, picnics etc can all lead on to doing far more things, potentially exploring your mutual interests.

Be sure that you are fully able to manage a relationship or it ending, if you are working with someone. As well as facing resistance from someone who may not perceive such relationships as appropriate. He may or may not be quick on the uptake, perhaps just seeing you ad friendly - so become affectionate and give him some come ons, so you get him to assess what his interests are

A kiss on the cheek sounds promising to me, unless he's the type that gives them to everyone. I'm the absolute worst at reading signals - in his position I'd be terrified of even going that far.

Tell him you had a great night and would love to do it again. Smile at him while you say it.

I'm terrible at reading signals myself so that doesn't help. He is working with me till the end I'd July so ideally I'd love to bed him before then

DJohn said - it doesn’t matter what he actually calls it, he knows it is a date.

From what you have said he sounds as though he is interested (a kiss of the cheek and making sure you got home safely in a taxi) but does not want to over step the mark.

Men are generally crap with signals so a quick kiss and lots of touching (hands and arms) will give him the clues that you are interested in more than just a meal.

Enjoy

In this situation it was always, do you fancy going for a drink? Second date meal. I was doing the asking but I would have said yes if the tables were turned. However I was usually pretty upfront if I found someone attractive back in the day. I’d be much more cautious these days as the social norms in organisations have changed.
