My daughter uses hers all the time to get stuff or get rid of it.

I subscribed to the Fife one and it filled my mailbox with thousands of mails.

I love Freecycle!

I've gifted quite a few large items of furniture and a wide screen tv, it's saved me paying man with van to come and take them away.

On the receiving end I've had lots of wood for my log burner and a compost bin for the garden all for free

Freecycle is fantastic. I have got some bits from it and given away stuff. I would recommend it to anyone!

Does anyone know if there is an etiquette if you get stuff from it, do you take a small gift of flowers or something if someone is giving you something for nothing

Haven't heard of this, all our local Freecycle asks is that you try to be a giver as well as a taker...they also advise that if you are collecting goods from someone, you take a friend / family member with you or at least let someone know where you are going...safety first, not everyone is honest in todays world...

No just a polite thank you suffices.

Have given things away and obtained some useful bits, smiles and courtesy is all that's required

I don't suppose there isn't a rule that doesn't mean you can't give someone a nice gratuity like that. Some people would be made up for a gesture like that. How lovely
