So I'm sat in T3 Manchester waiting for flight and looking at the board is see that 4 planes are due to take off at same time.

Do they have a fight to decide who takes off first?

The pilots have a thumb war contest in the crew rooms prior to departures.

In reality. The air traffic control tower have already determined which aircraft leaves in which slot.

The times you see on the departures board are the times the aircraft is 'pushed' off the stand, not the time it takes off.

Imagine synchronised flying. Do you reckon it could take off?

It already happens. Go to the U.S busiest airports where there can be as many as 4 runways in operation. Simultaneous take off and landings happen all the time.

"They queue up of course"

Yeah but is there an etiquette about it. I.e. a big plane says to the little one "you go first......"

"So I'm sat in T3 Manchester waiting for flight and looking at the board is see that 4 planes are due to take off at same time.

The dispatchers will tell ATC when their plane is ready and who can get off stand first, takes off first (usually). Most airport's will have a few flights take off at the same time (first flights of the day).

Happens during the summer holiday season but not so much during the winter. Half of the days flights could be within the first operating hour.

As I understand it, it's decided in a naked tag-team mud wrestle between the pilots and cabin crews of the different flights.
