I try to be nice when messaging women. Compliments etc. But never get a message back. I know there's loads of men on here. But manners cost nothing. A simple no thank you is better than being ignored

This will get the usual Responses chap

Bear in mind the ladies get 100s of messages a day, they don't have time to message everyone.... Just put it down to learning and move on matey

Most ladies do not get 100s of messages a day

Oh. It's this again...

It's not rude for someone to not respond to your message.

Do you have time to write 100s of responses every day? I don't. That's how many messages women get.

Then there's all the people who ask why not? And the ones who get nasty when you say no thanks.

It's just not worth it sometimes.

Don't take it personally

This is a frequently brought up criticism but unfortunately it's the way that this site operates you have to live with it I'm afraid ??

OP in the last week I have replied to about 80% of my messages.

Now - I’m off work (on maternity leave) and bed bound. So I have time to kill.

I have received MORE abuse when sending a polite rejection message, than I have for just straight up ignoring.

And I know others who have done the same experiment, with very similar results.

So no; I’d rather not reply. If you think I’m rude then fine, that’s your prerogative. But I’d rather be rude than up my chances of receiving abuse.

Not according to the FAQs ...try reading them...

You've got 420 in your username... For a lot that's an immediate delete! Profile pic isn't really enticing either. You need to catch an eye. You're a small fish in a big sea and if you can't expect everyone to respond how you want.

Calderdale innit

I will always reply if they have sent a nice message that stands out and seem to have read my profile.

If its clear they haven't I delete, manners work both ways and it takes 2 mins to read my profile.

Yes it would be nice if everyone could get a reply but you have to remember that people owe you nothing. So don't dwell on it.

I don't want compliments.

I want the person messaging me to have read and feel that they match my requirements. If they don't, the message gets 86'd

A polite message to us will get a polite message in return.

If we were swamped with messages it would probably change, but at the moment it's true.

It’s best not to expect a reply, the FAQ state you might not get one and you should consider that as a no thanks.

Remember nobody on this site is entitled to anything, and to expect entitlement is rude.

Whilst you may feel it’s polite to get a reply, the person you messaged may have thought it wasn’t polite you messaged them

"dont send messages, problem solved "

You may have a point. Sometimes it's worth waiting for them to make the first move....even if it's months between first contacts

This.

Nobody owes you a reply.

I'm pretty sure you don't phone up all the takeaways that post their menus through your door just to tell them you're not interested

If I send rejections I waste time and get more abuse.
