Fog lights and no rear lights!

Has anyone else noticed that many modern cars have there fog/ driving lights on at the front and no rear lights at all!

Why would this ever be needed?

It’s so unsafe as the driver thinks they have their lights on.

That sounds like the day running lights which we have. In auto mode the lights should come on when needed, front and back but very easy to unwittingly have them set to off with the front day lights still working but no rear light.

One thing I don't like is when the new cars indicate and the headlamp switches off and only the indicator is working until

the manoeuvre is complete.

The problem I see is many people know they have so called light on in the day (DRL's ) but then they forget to turn the lights on at dusk. So the rear of the car is not easy to see.

Totally my point.

I guess with digital dashboards that are light up you would not know?

One of my biggest pet hates with modern cars is front indicators. They seem so badly designed on most cars that it's impossible to see them in daylight until the car is nearly in front of you. Very annoying when sat at a T junction waiting to turn right and then only see the indicator of the car coming from the right as it turns the corner.
