This is what I thought would be the problem with them, multiple times I’ve winked, no response then messaged and had a good chat, seems like it’s a wasted thing now

Yes as it says in our profile if we wink and get a wink back then we will message.

They can be a useful way of catching some bodies attention.

They are not for everybody but then nothing ever is.

I use them, very often too shy to send out a message, not very good with things like that, but a wink shows interest without fear of being ignored or rejected lol

Perhaps the winkers use it as a bookmark? I just bulk delete the ones I get

Depends on how much communication a person gets. For me I don't use them as I get too much mail. I do look but I (exceedingly) rarely respond. I clear them out once a day.
